John Van Boxmeer

John Van Boxmeer is a Canadian professional ice hockey player born November 20, 1952. Selected 14th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1972 NHL Draft, he was regarded as a top prospect and traveled to Moscow for the 1972 Summit Series at the invitation of organizer Alan Eagleson, though he did not play. He appeared in 46 regular-season games for the Stanley Cup champion Canadiens in 1975–76 but was not credited on the Cup for missing the playoffs. Traded to the Colorado Rockies in 1976, he earned a full-time NHL role, playing all 80 games in the 1977–78 season.
