John Warren

Lloyd Michael Warren is an American retired television actor and former college basketball player. He was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Ellen and Grayson Warren, and attended Central High School, where he served as class president his senior year. He was twice named to the Indiana all-state team and graduated in 1964 as the school's career, season, and single-game scoring leader.

Warren played college basketball at UCLA, where he was a three-year varsity letterman and starting guard from 1966 to 1968. The smallest Bruins starter at 5 ft 11 in, he played alongside Lew Alcindor on teams coached by John Wooden that posted records of 30–0 in 1967 and 29–1 in 1968, capturing the NCAA national championship both seasons. Warren averaged 12.4 points as a junior in 1967 and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team. He earned first-team All-American honors in 1968.

After his playing career, Warren became a television actor, best known for portraying Officer Bobby Hill on the NBC series Hill Street Blues. In 1992, he was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
