Johnny Klippstein

John Calvin Klippstein (October 17, 1927 – October 10, 2003) was an American professional baseball pitcher who spent 18 seasons in Major League Baseball, working primarily as a reliever across 711 games. He began his career with the Chicago Cubs from 1950 to 1954 before moving on to several other clubs. Klippstein finished with a 101–118 record, a 4.24 ERA, and 1,158 strikeouts in nearly 1,968 innings, though he was often noted for control problems. He tied for the American League lead in saves in 1960 with 14, won a World Series ring with the 1959 Los Angeles Dodgers, and contributed to the Minnesota Twins' 1965 pennant run.
