Dossier

Jon P. McGlocklin, born June 10, 1943, in Franklin, Indiana, was an American professional basketball player who spent over a decade in the National Basketball Association. A 6'5" sharpshooting guard out of Indiana University, McGlocklin was selected by the Cincinnati Royals in the third round of the 1965 NBA draft. After two seasons in Cincinnati, he was left unprotected in the 1967 expansion draft and chosen by the San Diego Rockets, where he stayed a single season. He was again left unprotected in the 1968 expansion draft and taken by the Milwaukee Bucks.

McGlocklin played the last eight seasons of his career in Milwaukee, the period for which he is best known. He made the NBA All-Star Game in 1969 and helped lead the Bucks to the 1971 NBA Championship, playing alongside teammate Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. His association with the franchise ultimately spanned six decades.

After retiring from the NBA in 1976, McGlocklin became a television commentator for the Bucks. The franchise retired his number.
