Josh Devore

Josh Devore (November 13, 1887 – October 6, 1954) was born Joshua M. and hailed from Murray City, Ohio. At 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds, he batted left-handed and threw right. He played in the major leagues from 1908 through 1914, a 6-season run, spending most of his career with the New York Giants of the National League. His broader professional career stretched from 1906 to 1924, bracketing his major-league years on both ends. His card record includes appearances on E125 American Caramel Die Cuts, E97 Briggs Lozenges, and T206 White Border. He died October 6, 1954 in Chillicothe, Ohio and is interred at New Marshfield Cemetery in New Marshfield, Ohio.
