Keith Raymond Erickson, born April 19, 1944, in San Francisco, is an American former basketball and volleyball player. He attended El Segundo High School in California, where he played basketball in his senior year and was selected second-team All-Pioneer League in 1960-61. He was also an All-Star shortstop on the school's baseball team, alongside future Major League Baseball player Bobby Floyd; in 1961 that team won the Pioneer League Championship and finished second in the California Interscholastic Federation playoffs. After graduating, Erickson attended El Camino Junior College before continuing at the University of California, Los Angeles. At UCLA, under head coach John Wooden, he played on two NCAA championship teams and served as the key player in the team's zone-press defense. He also competed as a member of the United States Men's Olympic Volleyball Team at the 1964 Olympics. Erickson went on to play 12 years in the National Basketball Association, appearing in four NBA Finals series and missing a fifth because of injury.
