Ken Hunt

Kenneth Lawrence Hunt (July 13, 1934 – June 8, 1997) was a right-handed outfielder from Grand Forks, North Dakota who played six Major League seasons for the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels, and Washington Senators (1959–64). After two stints with the Yankees, he was selected by the expansion Angels franchise and started in center field on April 11, 1961 — the first game in Angels history, a 7–2 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Hunt hit 25 home runs and drove in 84 runs in 149 games that season, one of five Angels to clear 20 home runs in the club's inaugural year. Shoulder surgery in 1962 curtailed his production, and he finished with 177 hits and a .226 average across 310 career games.
