Ken Kavanaugh

Kenneth William Kavanaugh (1916–2007) played end for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League from 1940 to 1950, missing three seasons for World War II service. He led the league in receiving touchdowns twice and retired as the second player in NFL history to reach 50 receiving touchdowns, a total that still stands as the Bears' all-time franchise record. Kavanaugh earned a spot on the NFL 1940s All-Decade Team. Before turning professional, he played college football at Louisiana State University, where he led the nation in receptions and receiving yards in 1939, was named SEC Most Valuable Player, and earned consensus All-American honors. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1963.
