Kenny Sailors

Kenneth Lloyd Sailors (1921–2016) was a 5-foot-10 point guard who played professional basketball in the 1940s and early 1950s. He attended the University of Wyoming, where he earned All-American honors in 1942 and 1943 and led the Cowboys to the NCAA championship. After serving in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, he returned to Wyoming and earned All-American recognition again in 1946. Sailors is credited as one of the players who developed the jump shot as an alternative to the two-handed set shot. Following his professional career, he moved to Alaska and coached high school basketball in Glennallen.
