Kiki Cuyler

Hazen Shirley "Kiki" Cuyler was an American professional baseball right fielder, born August 30, 1898, in Harrisville, Michigan, and died February 11, 1950. The son of George and Anna Cuyler, both born in Canada, he descended from a family that had relocated there at the start of the Revolutionary War before moving to Michigan in the 1880s; his father played semi-professional baseball. Cuyler excelled in baseball, football, basketball, and athletics during school, and neither drank nor smoked in those years. He attended West Point for three months.

Cuyler played in Major League Baseball from 1921 until 1938, appearing for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, and Brooklyn Dodgers. He led the National League in stolen bases four times and in runs scored twice, and batted over .350 on four occasions. His 26 triples in 1925 were the second most in any season after 1900. He collected over 200 hits in three separate seasons and won the 1925 World Series with the Pirates. A career .321 hitter, he was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1968 by the Veterans Committee.
