Kitty Bransfield

William Edward "Kitty" Bransfield (January 7, 1875 – May 1, 1947) was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. His professional career ran from 1898 through 1911, placing him squarely in the nineteenth-century professional ranks, and he is most closely identified with the Philadelphia Phillies of the NL. After his major-league days ended in 1911, he continued in professional ball through 1912. He was listed at 5'11" and 207 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the iconic T206 White Border tobacco set issued 1909-11 by the American Tobacco Company. His documented card checklist includes E254 Colgan's Chips, E97 Briggs Lozenges, T204 Ramly, and T206 White Border. He died on May 1, 1947 in Worcester, Massachusetts and was interred at St. John Cemetery in Worcester, Massachusetts.
