Dossier

Kyle Paul Macy (born April 9, 1957) is an American basketball player and commentator who played college basketball for the Purdue Boilermakers and Kentucky Wildcats before spending seven years in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers. He later played three seasons in the Italian Lega Serie A.

The 1975 Indiana "Mr. Basketball" Award winner out of Peru High School, where he played for his father, Bob, Macy chose to attend Purdue University under head coach Fred Schaus. As a freshman he averaged 13.8 points per game and led the Boilermakers in free throws, shooting .859 from the line while starting 25 of 27 games and helping Purdue to a 16–11 record.

Macy transferred to the University of Kentucky in 1976. After sitting out the 1976–77 season as mandated by NCAA rules, he began playing for the Wildcats in 1977. He had a successful college career, earning three-time All-America and three-time All-SEC honors.

Following his playing career, Macy held various basketball-related positions, including coach, general manager, and broadcaster.
