L.C. Greenwood

L. C. Henderson Greenwood (September 8, 1946 – September 29, 2013) was an American professional football player who played defensive end in the National Football League. Born and raised in Canton, Mississippi, he attended Arkansas AM&N (now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff), where he played college football for the Golden Lions and was named the 1968 Ebony All-American defensive lineman in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. While there, he became a member of the Beta Theta chapter of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Greenwood in the tenth round of the 1969 NFL/AFL draft. The team had finished 2–11–1 the previous season and had replaced head coach Bill Austin with Chuck Noll. In 1971, Greenwood became the starting left defensive end, a position he held until his retirement in 1981. Standing 6 ft 6 in and weighing 245 pounds, he was one of the four members of Pittsburgh's Steel Curtain defensive line. He led the Steelers in sacks six times.

Greenwood was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to NFL All-Pro teams in 1974 and 1975. He was also named All-AFC five times. He spent his entire professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
