Dossier
Lawrence T. Cannon (April 12, 1947 – May 29, 2024) was a guard from Philadelphia who played college basketball at La Salle University, where he earned All-American recognition. Selected fifth overall by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 1969 NBA Draft, Cannon instead signed with the ABA's Miami Floridians. In his second ABA season he was named All-ABA second-team, averaging 26.6 points per game. His professional career was cut short by phlebitis, a chronic circulatory condition in his legs, but he finished with a 16.6 points-per-game average across his combined ABA and NBA appearances.
