Larry McLean

John Bannerman "Larry" McLean (July 18, 1881 – March 24, 1921) was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. His professional career ran from 1901 through 1915, placing him squarely in the deadball era, and he is most closely identified with the Cincinnati Reds of the NL. He was listed at 6'5" and 228 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the iconic T206 White Border tobacco set issued 1909-11 by the American Tobacco Company. He also turns up across the broader tobacco- and caramel-card output of the period, with documented appearances on T206 White Border, T204 Ramly, E90-1 American Caramel, E92 Croft's Candy, and E92 Croft's Cocoa, among others. He died on March 24, 1921 in Boston, Massachusetts and was interred at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
