Lawrence McCutcheon

Lawrence McCutcheon (born June 2, 1950) is an American former professional football player who played running back in the National Football League. Born and raised in Plainview, Texas, he graduated from Plainview High School in 1968 and played college football at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, then a member of the Western Athletic Conference.
The Los Angeles Rams selected McCutcheon in the third round of the 1972 NFL draft, 70th overall. He played for the Rams from 1972 to 1980, appearing in 89 games and seven playoff games, including Super Bowl XIV. Under head coach Chuck Knox, McCutcheon led the Rams in rushing for five consecutive seasons. In the 1975 playoffs, he set a postseason record by rushing for 202 yards on 37 carries in a win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
In 1980 he also played for the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks, and in 1981 he joined the Buffalo Bills, reuniting with Knox, his former Rams head coach.
In 1974, McCutcheon played a mixed doubles exhibition match in Claremont, California, partnering Tracy Austin against Elgin Baylor and Lea Antonopolis.
