Leo Mogus

Leo Mogus (April 13, 1921 – May 31, 1971) was an American professional basketball player who competed in the Basketball Association of America and early NBA during the late 1940s. The 6'4" forward/center played at Youngstown State University from 1939 to 1943, scoring 1,400 points while also playing football. He went on to play for six BAA/NBA franchises: the Cleveland Rebels, Toronto Huskies, Baltimore Bullets, Fort Wayne Pistons, Indianapolis Jets, and Philadelphia Warriors, averaging 8.5 points per game across his career. In the 1946–47 BAA season he ranked ninth in the league in both total points (753) and scoring average (13.0 ppg). He remains the only Youngstown State player to reach the NBA and was inducted into the university's Hall of Fame in 1985.
