Leon Douglas

Leon Douglas (born August 26, 1954, in Leighton, Alabama) was a center who played collegiately at the University of Alabama, where he earned two All-Southeastern Conference first-team selections and was named SEC Player of the Year twice. A Parade All-American out of Colbert County High School in 1972, he was part of coach C.M. Newton's lineup that regularly started five Black players during a period of significant racial change in the sport. Douglas went on to play seven seasons in the NBA before continuing his professional career in Europe. After retiring, he coached at several HBCU programs in Alabama.
