Les Habegger

Lester Habegger (1924–2017) was a basketball coach and executive born in Berne, Indiana. He attended Northwestern College, Wheaton College, and the University of Minnesota. Habegger joined Seattle Pacific as an assistant in 1956 and served as head coach from 1957 to 1974, compiling a 272–176 record and reaching the quarterfinals of the 1965 NCAA College Division tournament. He later worked as an assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks and Seattle SuperSonics and served as the SuperSonics' general manager from 1983 to 1985. Coaching in Germany with Steiner Bayreuth from 1987 to 1990, his team won multiple German Basketball Cups. He was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014.
