Lester Patrick

Lester Patrick (1883–1960) was a player, coach, and general manager who spent a significant portion of his career with the New York Rangers and is recognized as a developer of ice hockey. In 1966, the National Hockey League and USA Hockey established the Lester Patrick Trophy in his honor, awarded annually for outstanding service to hockey in the United States. The trophy reflects Patrick's lasting influence on the sport and may be presented to players, coaches, officials, and executives across the hockey community.
