Lonnie Wright (January 23, 1945 – March 23, 2012) was an American professional basketball and football player born in Newark, New Jersey. He attended Colorado State University, where he scored 1,246 career points and helped the Rams reach the 1966 NCAA Tournament. Wright was drafted in the sixth round of the 1966 NBA draft by the St. Louis Hawks but did not sign. He went on to play simultaneously for the Denver Rockets of the American Basketball Association and the Denver Broncos of the American Football League before committing to basketball full-time. In 1997, he was inducted into the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
