Lou Tsioropoulos

Lou Tsioropoulos was a Greek-American professional basketball player born in Lynn, Massachusetts on August 31, 1930. He played college basketball at Kentucky under Adolph Rupp, where he was a member of the 1951 NCAA Championship team that defeated Kansas State 68–58. His senior season was cancelled when Kentucky forfeited the 1952–53 campaign following a point-shaving scandal involving teammates — effectively an early "death penalty" for a college program. Tsioropoulos went on to play three seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics from 1956 to 1959. He died on August 22, 2015.
