Mac Percival

Dossier
Mac Percival (born February 26, 1940) was a placekicker in the National Football League who played for the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. Percival attended Vernon High School and accepted a basketball scholarship to Texas Tech University, where basketball — not football — was his primary sport. He never played college football. After graduating, he spent four years as a high school teacher before the Cowboys signed him as an undrafted free agent following a kicking caravan search in 1967. He was subsequently traded to the Chicago Bears along with tight end Austin Denney in exchange for a third-round draft pick.
