MacArthur Lane

MacArthur Lane (March 16, 1942 – May 4, 2019) was a running back in the National Football League who played eleven seasons, from 1968 to 1978, for the St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, and Kansas City Chiefs. Born and raised in Oakland, California, Lane was named after U.S. Army General Douglas MacArthur and excelled at Fremont High School, earning all-city football honors before entering professional football without attending college. He set a durability record that stands among the sport's more unusual statistical marks: at 36 years and 199 days old, he became the oldest running back in NFL history to rush for more than 100 yards in a single game.
