Marty Howe

Marty Gordon Howe (born February 18, 1954) is a Canadian-American former professional ice hockey defenseman. He played his junior hockey with the Toronto Marlboros of the OHA before joining the Houston Aeros of the World Hockey Association in 1973, where he skated alongside his father Gordie Howe and brother Mark Howe for four seasons. Montreal selected him in the third round, 51st overall, in the 1974 NHL Entry Draft, though he did not reach the NHL until 1979, when the WHA merged with the league. He later served as an assistant coach with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL from 2001 to 2006.
