Marty McManus

Martin Joseph McManus (1900–1966) was a Chicago-born infielder who spent 15 seasons in Major League Baseball, primarily at second base and third base. He played for the St. Louis Browns (1920–1926), Detroit Tigers (1927–1931), Boston Red Sox (1931–1933), and Boston Braves (1934), finishing with a .289 career batting average across 6,660 at-bats. McManus hit above .300 four times, including a .333 mark in 1923 and .320 in 1930. He led the American League in doubles (44) in 1925 and stolen bases (23) in 1930. He later managed the Red Sox in 1932–1933 and skippered several minor league clubs through 1941.
