Melvin Lloyd Parnell (June 13, 1922 – March 20, 2012) was a left-handed pitcher who spent his entire ten-year Major League Baseball career with the Boston Red Sox (1947–1956). He compiled a 123–75 record with a 3.50 ERA, 732 strikeouts, 113 complete games, and 20 shutouts across 289 appearances. His best season came in 1949, when he went 25–7, led the American League in wins, complete games (27), and innings pitched (295⅓), and started the All-Star Game for the American League. He holds the third-highest career winning percentage for a left-hander at Fenway Park among qualified starters, at .703 (71–30).
