Mike Antonovich

Michael "Antone" Antonovich (born October 18, 1951) is an American forward who played high school hockey at Greenway High School in Coleraine, Minnesota, leading the program to three consecutive Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament appearances and back-to-back state championships in 1967 and 1968. He went on to play three seasons at the University of Minnesota under coaches Glen Sonmor and Herb Brooks before turning professional. Selected 113th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft, Antonovich spent the bulk of his career in the WHA with the Minnesota Fighting Saints, Edmonton Oilers, and New England Whalers, with additional NHL appearances for the North Stars, Hartford Whalers, and New Jersey Devils.
