Mike Palmateer

Michael Scott Palmateer (born January 13, 1954, in Toronto, Ontario) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the NHL from 1976 to 1984. Selected 85th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1974 NHL amateur draft, Palmateer served as Toronto's starting goaltender for his first three seasons beginning in 1976–77. He later played for the Washington Capitals. Over 356 NHL games, he posted 149 wins, 138 losses, and 52 ties with a 3.53 goals-against average. His tenure in Toronto ended following an injury-shortened 1979–80 season complicated by disputes with management over his health.
