Mike Riordan

Michael W. Riordan (born July 9, 1945) is an American former professional basketball player who played nine seasons in the National Basketball Association. A 6'4" swingman, he attended Holy Cross High School in Queens, New York, before enrolling at Providence College, where he played three seasons for the Providence Friars and averaged 11.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game over his college career. Riordan began his professional career with the Allentown Jets of the Eastern Professional Basketball League during the 1967–68 season, winning the EPBL championship in 1968. He entered the NBA in 1968 and played through 1977 as a member of the New York Knicks and the Baltimore, Capital, and Washington Bullets. He won an NBA Championship with the Knicks in 1970. On November 11, 1971, he was traded along with Dave Stallworth and an undisclosed amount of cash to the Baltimore Bullets for Earl Monroe. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 1973 and scored 6,334 points over his NBA career. After retiring as a player, Riordan owned Riordan's Saloon.
