Mud Bruneteau

Modere Fernand "Mud" Bruneteau (November 28, 1914 – April 15, 1982) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played for the Detroit Red Wings from 1935 to 1946. A right wing, Bruneteau is best remembered for scoring the winning goal in the longest game in NHL playoff history — on March 24, 1936, at 16:30 of the sixth overtime, he batted a rolling puck past Montreal Maroons goaltender Lorne Chabot to end a 1–0 Detroit victory. With Detroit he won three Stanley Cup championships, in 1936, 1937, and 1943. He later coached his brother Ed Bruneteau on the Omaha Knights.
