Muddy Ruel

Herold Dominic "Muddy" Ruel (1896–1963) was a catcher in Major League Baseball from 1915 to 1934, playing for the St. Louis Browns, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators, Detroit Tigers, and Chicago White Sox. Regarded as one of the top defensive catchers of his era, he served as the personal catcher for Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson. Ruel later worked in baseball as a coach, manager, and general manager. He is best remembered for scoring the winning run for the Washington Senators in Game 7 of the 1924 World Series.
