George William "Mule" Haas (October 15, 1903 – June 30, 1974) was a center fielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1925 through 1938. Born in Montclair, New Jersey, he attended Montclair High School before signing with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an amateur free agent in 1923. After his major league debut with Pittsburgh in 1925, he spent additional time in the minors before joining the Philadelphia Athletics in 1928. There he became part of one of the most formidable lineups in the sport, helping the Athletics win three consecutive American League pennants from 1929 to 1931 and World Series titles in 1929 and 1930.
