Mychal Thompson

Mychal Thompson, born January 30, 1955, in Nassau, Bahamas, is a former professional basketball player who spent his career in the NBA as a center and power forward. Selected first overall in the 1978 NBA Draft, he played collegiately at the University of Minnesota before joining the Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, and Los Angeles Lakers. He won two NBA championships with Los Angeles during the 1980s. Thompson holds the distinction of being the first player born and raised in the Bahamas to play in the NBA.
