Nap Rucker

Nap Rucker, given name George Napoleon (September 30, 1884 – December 19, 1970). He was born in Crabapple, Georgia and died in Alpharetta, Georgia. He stood 5 feet 11 inches and weighed 190 pounds. He batted right-handed and threw left-handed. He debuted in the majors in 1907 and played his last big-league season in 1916, a stretch of 10 seasons, primarily with the Brooklyn Robins of the National League. His full professional career, including the minor leagues, ran from 1904 through 1916. His card presence in this catalog spans the E103 Williams Caramels issue of 1910; the E254 Colgan's Chips chewing-gum issue produced from 1909 through 1912, a set notable for its broad coverage of major and minor league players; and the T204 Ramly tobacco issue of 1909, distributed by the Mentor Cigarette Company and recognizable by its ornate gold-bordered frames. He is interred at Roswell Presbyterian Cemetery in Roswell, Georgia.
