Nate Bowman

Nathan "Nate the Snake" Bowman (March 19, 1943 – December 11, 1984) was a 6'10" center from Fort Worth, Texas, who played at Wichita State University before entering the NBA in 1966. Over five NBA seasons and one ABA campaign (1966–1972), he suited up for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Buffalo Braves, and Pittsburgh Condors, accumulating 745 points and 878 rebounds. A capable rebounder but erratic shooter, he committed more personal fouls than he scored field goals — the habit behind his nickname. He earned an NBA Championship ring as a reserve with the 1970 New York Knicks.
