Nick Altrock

Nicholas Altrock (September 15, 1876 - January 20, 1965). He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, listed in playing days at 5'10", 197 lbs. He was a switch-hitter and threw left-handed. His major-league career ran from 1898 through 1933, primarily with the Chicago White Sox of the American League. On the cardboard side, his vintage presence is anchored to the E254 Colgan's Chips issue, which is where collectors of the period most commonly encounter him. He died on January 20, 1965 in Washington, D.C.. He is interred at Vine Street Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
