Nick Beverley

Nicholas Gerald Beverley, born April 21, 1947, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and coach. Over a career that spanned more than 500 National Hockey League games, he played for the Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Minnesota North Stars, and Colorado Rockies, recording 18 goals and 94 assists for 112 points in 501 games.

Beverley scored his first NHL goal as a member of the Boston Bruins in his team's 6–0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on January 14, 1973, at Boston Garden. It proved to be the only goal he scored as a Bruin. He was subsequently traded from Boston to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Darryl Edestrand, and on May 28, 1974, the New York Rangers acquired him from the Penguins for Vic Hadfield.

Following his playing career, Beverley turned to coaching, becoming an assistant coach of the Los Angeles Kings in 1981. He later served as head coach of the New Haven Nighthawks of the American Hockey League. Over a span of 14 years with the Kings, he held a variety of positions, including scout, assistant coach, head coach of the minor-league affiliate, director of player personnel, and assistant general manager. He also coached in both the NHL and the AHL during his post-playing career.
