Nick Fotiu

Nick Fotiu (born May 25, 1952) is an American former professional ice hockey forward who played between 1974 and 1988 in both the World Hockey Association and National Hockey League. A left winger of Greek and Italian descent, Fotiu began his career with the New England Whalers in the WHA before signing with the New York Rangers, where he became a fan favorite as an enforcer. The first New York City-born Ranger, he was known for his fighting ability developed through golden-gloves boxing. He later joined the Hartford Whalers after being claimed in the 1979 NHL Expansion Draft.
