Norm Larker

Norman Howard John Larker (December 27, 1930 – March 12, 2007) was a left-handed first baseman and corner outfielder from Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania. He appeared in 667 Major League Baseball games between 1958 and 1963 for four National League clubs, most prominently the Los Angeles Dodgers. After graduating from Hazleton High School, Larker began his professional career with the Hazleton Mountaineers in 1949 and joined the Dodger organization the following year. He batted over .300 in three consecutive seasons (1955–1957) in the American Association but was blocked from the major-league roster by first baseman Gil Hodges. Larker also played two seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball in 1965 and 1966.
