Oscar Robertson

Oscar Palmer Robertson, born November 24, 1938, is an American former professional basketball player and point guard known as "the Big O." He played in the National Basketball Association for the Cincinnati Royals and the Milwaukee Bucks. Over his career he was named to 12 All-Star teams and 11 All-NBA teams, and he won the league's Most Valuable Player award in 1964.

In 1962 Robertson became the first player in NBA history to average a triple-double over a full season, a mark later matched only by Russell Westbrook and Nikola Jokić. In the 1970–71 season he was a key player on the Milwaukee Bucks team that won the franchise its first NBA title. His playing career, particularly during high school and college, was marked by the racism he faced.

Robertson was named to the NBA 35th Anniversary Team in 1980 and was selected as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996. He is a two-time inductee into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, entering in 1980 for his individual career and again in 2010 as a member of the 1960 United States men's Olympic basketball team and as president of the National Basketball Players Association.
