Dossier

Otto George Moore, born August 27, 1946, is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'11" center out of the University of Texas-Pan American, Moore played nine seasons in the National Basketball Association from 1968 to 1977, suiting up for the Detroit Pistons, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Kansas City–Omaha Kings, and New Orleans Jazz. He averaged a double-double twice, posting 11.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game for the Pistons in 1969–70 and 11.7 points and 10.6 rebounds per game for the Rockets in 1972–73. Across his full career he averaged 8.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. During the 1975–76 season with the Jazz, he ranked eighth in the league in blocks per game at 1.7. Moore holds the distinction of having appeared in the second-most regular-season NBA games (682) without ever playing in a playoff game, trailing only Tom Van Arsdale. In 1979, the Royal Tru Orange signed Moore for a one-conference stint in the Philippines. Paired with high-volume scorer Larry Pounds, the tandem proved a lethal threat, and the two led Royal Tru-Orange to the championship in the 1979 Open Conference.
