Pep Young

Lemuel Floyd "Pep" Young (August 29, 1907 – January 14, 1962) was an American professional baseball player who spent ten seasons in Major League Baseball as a second baseman. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1933–40), Cincinnati Reds (1941), and St. Louis Cardinals (1941 and 1945). Across 730 games, he posted a .262 batting average with 645 hits, 128 doubles, and 347 RBI. His best season came in 1938, when he appeared in 149 games for Pittsburgh, hit .278 with 156 hits and 79 RBI, and finished 14th in National League MVP voting.
