Pete Reiser

Harold Patrick "Pistol Pete" Reiser (March 17, 1919 – October 25, 1981) was a professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball during the 1940s and early 1950s. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Reiser originally signed with the Cardinals before Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis declared him a free agent at age 19, after which the Brooklyn Dodgers retained him following standout spring training performances in 1939 and 1940. In 1941, his first full season as a starter, Reiser helped Brooklyn win the National League pennant for the first time since 1920. He later played for the Boston Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Cleveland Indians.
