Pryor McElveen

Pryor Mynatt "Humpty" McElveen (November 5, 1881 – October 27, 1951) was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His professional career ran from 1909 through 1911, placing him squarely in the deadball era, and he is most closely identified with the Brooklyn Robins of the NL. After his major-league days ended in 1911, he continued in professional ball through 1915. He was listed at 5'10" and 168 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the iconic T206 White Border tobacco set issued 1909-11 by the American Tobacco Company. He died on October 27, 1951 in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee and was interred at Westview Cemetery in Jefferson City, Tennessee.
