Randy Vataha

Randel Edward Vataha (born December 4, 1948, in Santa Monica, California) was a wide receiver who played seven seasons in the NFL. After lettering in four sports at Rancho Alamitos High School and transitioning from quarterback to receiver at Golden West Junior College, Vataha transferred to Stanford, where he became a primary target for quarterback Jim Plunkett. The pair connected on a 96-yard touchdown pass in 1970, a Stanford record that stood until 1999. Selected in the 17th round of the 1971 NFL Draft, Vataha spent six seasons with the New England Patriots before finishing his career with the Green Bay Packers.
