Raymond Coy Poage Jr. (1940–1997) played fullback, tight end, wide receiver, and fullback in American football, competing at the University of Texas from 1959 to 1962 before an eight-season NFL career with the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, and Atlanta Falcons. At Texas he earned All-Southwest Conference Honorable Mention recognition and was part of squads that twice reached the nation's top ranking and won Southwest Conference titles. He contributed to the Longhorns' 1960 Bluebonnet Bowl appearance, leading the team in rushing with 56 yards, and played a role in their 1962 Cotton Bowl Classic victory over Mississippi State.
