Ray Smith Poole (April 15, 1921 – April 2, 2008) was an offensive and defensive end who played for the New York Giants of the NFL from 1947 to 1952. Born in Gloster, Mississippi, Poole attended the University of North Carolina before transferring to Ole Miss, where he also played baseball and basketball alongside brothers Barney and Buster. Selected by the Giants in the 13th round of the 1944 NFL draft while serving in the Marines during World War II, he returned to college before joining the league. He earned all-NFL honors in 1950, later played for the Montreal Alouettes in 1953–54, and spent two decades as an assistant coach at Ole Miss under Johnny Vaught.
