Ray Renfro

Austin Raymond "Ray" Renfro (November 7, 1929 – August 4, 1997) was an American professional football flanker who played twelve seasons in the National Football League for the Cleveland Browns from 1952 to 1963. He played college football for the North Texas State Eagles before entering the NFL. From 1952 to 1958 he also saw duty as a halfback, later settling at flanker.

After his playing career, Renfro became an assistant coach through the 1960s and 1970s. He coached running backs for the Detroit Lions in 1965, then wide receivers for the Washington Redskins from 1966 to 1967 and the Dallas Cowboys from 1968 to 1972. As the Cowboys' quarterbacks and wide receivers coach, he helped the team win Super Bowl VI.

Renfro was the father of former NFL wide receiver Mike Renfro and the brother of Dean Renfro. He died at the age of 67 and was interred at Greenwood Memorial Park cemetery, alongside Lon Evans.
