Rich Hebner

Richard Joseph Hebner (born November 26, 1947, in Brighton, Massachusetts) played third base in Major League Baseball from 1968 through 1985, spending his most prominent years with the Pittsburgh Pirates. A left-handed hitter who threw right-handed, Hebner was drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round of the 1966 draft out of Norwood High School, originally as a shortstop before converting to third base in the minors. He was part of the Pirates teams that won five National League Eastern Division titles between 1970 and 1975 and captured the World Series in 1971. During the offseason, he worked as a gravedigger at a cemetery operated by his father and brother.
